Once only privy to pilots and aviators, now the bomber jacket can be enjoyed by all. It was during World War I that most airplanes cockpits were not enclosed, creating a chilly atmosphere for our guys and gals that were flying. Luckily the Royal Flying Corps started wearing a longer style of leather jacket in 1915. Others sat up and took notice and the trend took off! (Airplane humor...) It was the US Army who started distributing the original style of bomber jackets in 1917. They were complete with wind flaps, fur lining and snug cuffs. The style has evolved to somewhat lighter jackets, more easily compatible with all seasons. Today's bomber jacket, especially at Clothing4all, is well-made, comfortable and affordable.
