Set Up / Production

We want you to be happy the first time, every time you order custom screen printing from Clothing 4 All. From the primary colors of red, green and blue, more than one million shades of the combination of any or all of these primary colors exist. To avoid you getting the undesired color(s) within your screen printed logo, you must write or acknowledge colors written in the invoice, for any colors desired. Colors descriptions such as "yellow", "red", etc. are at the screen printer's discretion, depending a lot upon their computer monitor's setting and/or the staff's color perception of your provided logo. Shades of a color must be explained as a PMS color. Colors such as "royal" may vary slightly from one person or organization to another. Clothing 4 All will not accept responsibility for such shade variances if a PMS color was not requested in writing. Clothing 4 All is fully responsible for instances when, for example, a color "baby blue" is ordered - yet "navy blue" or some very obvious color is used.

There are two parts to Setup / Production of a screen print order (three parts if the garment / bag is not white):

  • Initial screen / film per color: $9.99
  • Vector file. A jpg, gif or similar file has to be drawn into a vector file to print. In this process, a jpg, or other file is re-created by hand, as it cannot be used to print. On all orders, add $7.77 to vectorize the art, if your garment order is less than $500. On all orders. We cannot output a jpeg, etc. onto film at a good enough quality to get a clean print.
  • Screen size goes up to 14" x 14"

Changes made to logos - we do not offer such service. All orders are for camera ready logos, unless logo is text without any additional graphic or custom font changes.

Mail Proof before production: $30.00

Printing on Bags: additional 50 per bag, due to additional handling.

Quantity price breaks: There are none.

Note: Screens are not saved. Your art is saved. Screen cost on re-orders are only $9.00 per color on orders under 144.

MERCHANDISE:  We strongly recommend producing a pre-production sample to ensure correct style and color of supplied merchandise.

REFUSALS: All orders are custom and are not subject to refusal once production samples and/or sew-outs have been approved.

CHANGES: Revisions to orders may only be made prior to start of production and must be done in writing.

SHIPPING: Orders ship twice, once from the manufacturer to the embroiderer / screen printer, then once again from the embroiderer / screen printer to the customer. On merchandise orders of $300 or more (excluding white t-shirts),we give free freight ONCE, from the manufacturer to the embroiderer / screen printer. The customer is charged for the second time their order is shipped, which is from the embroiderer / screen printer to the customer.

It is the customer's responsibility to make sure all ship-to addresses have been verified and properly spelled on the order form. Any additional freight charges stemming from shipment of your order will be billed to you.

For screen printed or embroidered orders, during which a garment is shipped twice (once from the garment manufacturer to the embroiderer - then once again from the embroiderer to the customer), the added cost of shipping is $1.00 per white t-s

Let's Talk....

Screen-printing is a skill thats often glossed over because most assume that its more commonplace than it is. Its a printing technique that uses mesh thats been woven to support a stencil made from ink blocking. The stencil thats been attached forms open areas of mesh. They transfer ink into a sharp-edged image placed on a substrate. A substrate is a supported fabricated material. Then the artist uses a roller or a squeegee to move across the screen stencil. This process forces and pumps ink into the threads of the open area woven mesh.

Screen-printing is a method of print making involving a stencil. The design is pre-imposed onto a screen made of silk or any other fine mesh. The blank areas are then coated with a substance that is hard to impasse or impermeable. The ink is forced through the wall of mesh and projected onto the surface for printing. Other names for screen-printing are silk screening or serigraphy.

Historically, silk was generally involved in silk-screening or screen-printing. Today, synthetic threads are much more common in the process. Polyester makes up the most popular mesh. Nylon and stainless steel are also commonly utilized. Screen-printing has an interesting etymology, because of the frequent use of the term silk screening.

Screen-printing was first used in China during the Song Dynasty. The Song Dynasty took place 960-1279 AD. Soon afterwards, other Asian countries like Japan incorporated the method into a craft that theyd previously used block printing for. It was only introduced to Western Europe in the late 1700s. Even then, many didnt accept it until trade from the east increased because this meant higher profits.

Someone finally got around to patenting it in 1907. His name was Samuel Simon, he was British, and he used it largely on pricey wallpaper, and linens. Over time this process was refined, but a lot of secrecy sprang up around Europe as different workshops kept coming up with new techniques and knowledge for the craft.

The revolution of the commercially used screen print came around in 1910. A couple fellas by the names of Roy Beck, Charles Peter and Edward Owens started playing with different chemical compounds like potassium, sodium and dichromate chemicals with compounds made of glues and gelatins. Their ultimate goal was to create photosensitive screening capabilities. The industry was very hesitant at first and it actually took many years, and much safer sensitizers than the initial dangerous compounds.

The most famous name of all connected with screen-printing would be Andy Warhol. He completely evolved the idea in the 1960s with famous prints like Marilyn Monroe recreated repeatedly in an array of garnish colors. Today screen-printing has become an inexpensive way to jazz up any piece of clothing.
